The city of Pompeii is a partially buried Roman town-city near modern Naples in the Italian region of Campania, in the territory of the comune of Pompei. Along with Herculaneum, Pompeii was destroyed and completely buried during a long catastrophic eruption of the volcano Mount Vesuvius spanning two days in the year AD 79. The eruption buried Pompeii under 4 to 6 m (13 to 20 ft) of ash and pumice, and it was lost for nearly 1700 years before its accidental rediscovery in 1749. Since then, its excavation has provided an extraordinarily detailed insight into the life of a city at the height of the Roman Empire. Today, this UNESCO World Heritage Site is one of the most popular tourist attractions of Italy, with approximately 2,500,000 visitors every year.

Second day kat Rome, kami akan ke Pompeii. Bangun seawsl jam 6 pagi sebab train bertolak pukul 7.25 pagi. Sambil tunggu turn nak masuk bilik air, kitorang rebus nasi impit, buat kopi, mandi dan sembahyang, tengok jam dah pukul 7 pagi. Kelam kabut kemas, cilok roti ngan yogurt kat reception pas tu kuar pegi Roma Termini. Nasib baik ler dekat jugak ADBB ngan station. Train kat situ on the dot jalan tau. Sedang molek ler kitorang sampai, naik duduk kejap trus train jalan. 

Perjalanan mengambil masa lebih kurang 2 jam. Sebelah aku ada sorang pok cik Italy siap ngan kot semua.. nak gi keje kot.. hehe.. Satu yang best dalam train ni, dia ada kasi 1 keping biskut jenama "Ciok" (punya la cioknyeerr sekut tu). Bawah biskut kat atas tu ada coklat. Sedap siot tapi kasi 1 jer. Pas tu 1 lagi yang free adalah kopi. Sedap banget kopi dier tapi sikit gilos. Ala-ala espresso dia punya sukatan. 

Sampai jer kat Naples or Napoli, kena tukar ke train biasa. Train to di panggil Circumvesuviana dan stesen yang akan kitorang pegi of course le Pompeii. Komuter kita lagi cun lah dari train ni.. hehehe. Dari Napoli Stn ke Pompeii mengambil masa 1/2 jam. Itu pun sebab dia berhenti a few station.  Kitorang sampai kat entrance lebih kurang dalam pukul 10.15 pagi.
